IT HURTS TO WALK. HOW CAN PT HELP?
A physical therapist specializes in analyzing movement patterns and muscle activation. Imbalances, gait mechanics and posture to determine what can be contributing to pain. A PT can help identify the cause of the discomfort and make suggestions on walking form, the pace of movement and duration of actvity to support healthy exercise.
A PT can instruct how to relieve pain by adjusting walking form, pace, and duration. In addition to retraining movement patterns, hands-on techniques for pain relief are used to provide more immediate relief. This can look like mobilization of a joint and massage of soft tissues.
“Isaac, and his team worked on my knee and in short time he was able to get the knee to exceed my doctor’s expectations. The staff was always friendly and personable and made PT fun! Isaac was always in a great mood and energentic and willing to answer my questions. He treated my knee like it was my knee and not just any other knee. I couldn’t have had a better experience.”
